Click-Through Rate (CTR)

CTR (Click-Through Rate) is the percentage of people who saw an ad or link and clicked it. The first signal of how appealing the creative and offer are.

Back to the knowledge base

CTR (Click-Through Rate) is the share of clicks relative to those who saw the ad. Formula: CTR = clicks ÷ impressions × 100%. For example, 200 clicks from 10,000 impressions is a CTR of 2%.

CTR is the first signal of how appealing the ad creative and offer are. A low CTR often points to a weak headline, wrong audience, or unclear offer. But a high CTR alone doesn't guarantee sales — the click then has to convert.

Frequently asked questions

Is a high CTR always good?

Not always. A sensational but misleading creative can produce a high CTR yet bring low-quality traffic and poor conversion. CTR should be judged together with conversion and CPL.
