In performance marketing, almost everyone tries to push one number down: Cost Per Lead. The rule that "a cheap lead is a good lead" is so entrenched in the market that almost no one questions it. On the Parking24 project we did the opposite — we deliberately made the lead more expensive. CPL rose to $10, above the market average. And that very decision unlocked $150,000 in sales in the first month.
To explain this, I'll focus on a single element — the 10-question filter form. Because Parking24's entire result started with this form.
A cheap lead is the most expensive lead
The company had just launched: no marketing, no customers. The founder framed the task in one sentence: "I need sales-ready customers; we'll handle the rest ourselves." This was an order about quality, not about the number of leads.
The problem with a cheap lead is that it eats the sales team's time. A $1 lead is easy to get, but every empty call is half an hour of a salesperson's day. If a hundred curious but non-buying people come in each day, the sales team drowns and not a single deal closes. The sales team's time is worth more than a lead — we built the entire logic on this principle.
Why exactly 10 questions
Before launching the ads, we built the social media identity and the sales offer from scratch — the company had none of it. Then came the most important part: the 10-step filter form.
This form was deliberately made "heavy." Every question is a filter. The goal was not to increase the number of leads but the opposite — to reduce it: to deliver to the sales team only people who are ready to buy, with a real problem and a budget.
A good filter form checks several dimensions at once: whether the person is solving a real problem or just browsing, whether they are a decision-maker, when they need the solution, and what their budget level is. Someone who is merely curious or clicked by accident won't fill out such a form to the end — and that is exactly the result we wanted. Every additional question blocks a cheap, random lead but doesn't stop a serious buyer. For a person with a real problem, 10 questions are not a barrier but a signal that they're being taken seriously.
CPL $10 — a calculated premium
As a result, Cost Per Lead came to ~$10. That's above the market average, and if the project is judged by CPL alone, it looks "bad." But this is a calculated premium, not a mistake.
We measure not the price of a lead but its conversion into a sale. Three hundred empty $1 leads won't produce $150,000. Three hundred filtered $10 leads will. A number has to be read in context, not on its own: a low CPL often hides a high, concealed CAC.
90% — matching the sales team's criteria
The form alone isn't enough — it has to be connected to the sales team. Once the Meta and YouTube campaigns launched, we set up daily synchronization with the sales team: every day, which leads turned out to be quality and which didn't — a continuous feedback loop.
That cycle kept sharpening the form. As a result, 90% of the 300+ Marketing Qualified Leads that came in met the sales team's own criteria. We report not with "reach" or "followers" but with exactly this kind of number: how many MQLs, at what quality. If lead quality falls below the agreed criteria, we fix it at our own expense.
First month: $1,000 → $150,000
The first month's numbers confirmed the filter logic. With a $1,000 ad budget, the salespeople closed 3 major deals — $150,000 in total, roughly $50,000 each. That's a 150× return. And in the CRM, a $1,000,000+ pipeline is still awaiting a response.
The client summed it up in one sentence: "After a year working with them on another project, we entrusted this one to them as well."
Conclusion
The lesson of the 10-question filter form is a single one: lead quality matters more than lead quantity. If you chase cheap leads, what feels like speed actually turns into slowness — the sales team gets bogged down in empty work while real deals wait in line.
The filter form is not an advertising trick — it's the link that ties marketing and sales into a single system. Built right, it raises CPL but lowers CAC. And in the end, the number that counts is the second one.
