Customer Journey Map (CJM)

A CJM maps all the stages and touchpoints a customer goes through from realizing the problem to purchase (and beyond).

Back to the knowledge base

A Customer Journey Map (CJM) charts the customer's path stage by stage: when they realize the problem, where they search, what they pay attention to, how they decide. At each stage it marks the customer's question, fear, and touchpoint.

A CJM frees marketing from guesswork. It shows which channel, at which stage, with what message is needed. For instance, if the CJM reveals the buyer of a parking system is not a random user but a business-center owner — starting the funnel from the bottom (sales) becomes the right move.

Frequently asked questions

Are a CJM and a sales funnel the same?

No. The funnel is stages from the company's viewpoint (lead → sale). The CJM is the experience from the customer's viewpoint (what they feel, fear). Used together, the funnel is built more precisely.
